The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act helps students who are homeless due to various reasons. The law requires immediate enrollment of these students and removal of any barriers to their full participation in the educational program. Schools can use funds to support these students’ regular attendance by providing assistance with clothing, transportation, health needs, academic records, tutoring, and fee waivers. The Homeless Liaison collaborates with community agencies to provide support to homeless students.
